In the first year, perennials will establish foliage and roots that overwinter; they will start to bloom in in the second or third year, and will return for years to come. Look for a colorful mix of blue, red, yellow, pink, purple, and white blooms that will attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.
